Counseling is about building relational trust and consistency within the framework of an inviting, warm, and non-judgmental environment. We strive to create a place where individuals, couples, children, and families all feel welcome.
Treatment Philosophy
Everyone comes to therapy with unique skills, assets, and resiliency. Our goal is to guide clients to tap into their inner personal and spiritual strengths despite the challenges they face.
We also work from a systems perspective which means each individual is seen in context of one’s family, community, culture, and society.
Our goal is to bring healing by helping clients understand that no matter the issues, at heart there are truly “no bad parts” within themselves. “Protector” parts may become exaggerated and are no longer effective (e.g. addictive parts, anxious/depressed parts, suicidal, eating disorders, etc.). The integration is guiding clients to see how their “protectors” are now repressing and shielding more vulnerable parts (e.g. shame, feelings of worthlessness, abandonment, inadequacy, etc.) and giving those parts the space to heal.
